What to Expect
The Pafuri Triangle – a wedge of land that lies between the Luvuvhu and Limpopo Rivers in the northernmost section of the Kruger National Park – is famed for its rugged natural beauty and astonishing plant, bird and animal life.
In fact, 80% of the Park’s biodiversity can be found in the 26,500ha private concession that unfolds through vast alluvial floodplains, deep sandstone gorges, tracts of sandveld studded with ancient baobabs and the Southern Hemisphere’s largest fever tree forest. It is a vast and remote wilderness just waiting to be explored.

The Outpost accommodates 24 guests in 12 open plan, en-suite luxury spaces cantilevered on a hill overlooking the Luvuvhu River. The private, free standing spaces are inter-connected to each other and the central lodge area by 500 metres of Zimbabwean teak walkway. Contemporary architecture makes use of concrete and steel with state-of the-art retractable, remote-controlled screens offering 180º of uninterrupted views.
Game drives and the most outstanding walking safaris take place in one of the most scenic and diverse wilderness areas of the Kruger Park. Over 350 recorded bird species, Baobabs, Lanner Gorge and Crooks Corner offers guests a unique topography of landscape, fauna and flora.

The region is home to a wide variety of animals including the larger and potentially dangerous species. The possibility of encountering these animals always exists, particularly elephant and buffalo. At the completion of each trail, in the middle of the day and in the evenings, guests can relax, cool off in the swimming pool and enjoy the comfort and luxury of The Outpost.
There is so much more to this wilderness experience than encounters with big mammals. The walks also focus on the broader aspects of nature and the wilderness such as the sounds, the smells, the ecological web, the little and the big. We can also cater for special interest groups, such as botany or birds, and are conducted in areas carefully chosen to capture the diversity of topography, habitat and wildlife.
